Good Delivery Platinum and Palladium

Unlike gold and silver, platinum and palladium do not have thousands of years of history behind them; these two metals were only discovered in the last 250 years.

London has always been an important place for platinum and palladium and trading started there at the beginning of the last century.

The Good Delivery standard was established by the London Platinum and Palladium Market in 1979 to standardise the specifications of metal that would be accepted in settlement.

At GoldMoney we only buy platinum and palladium bars that adhere to the Good Delivery criteria, which have developed into the de facto standards for the professional platinum and palladium market.

Each bar is marked with the following stamps:
  • Letters PT (Platinum) or PD (Palladium) with a purity stamp
  • Year of production
  • Serial number
  • Assay stamp of refiner
  • Weight in grams, kilograms or troy ounces
