It is GoldMoney's policy to not accept any third party funds transfers. In other words, we will only accept wires from a bank account in the name of the individual who has completed our CAP verification process. In the case where a Company or Trust Holding has been set up, we will only accept funds from a bank account in the name of the Company or Trust.
This policy is in place because anti-money laundering regulations require us to have verified the source of the funds we accept from our customers. Therefore if we accept funds from a source (i.e., a bank account) that is not in the name of the entity we have verified, we would be in violation of those regulations.
Funds that have been sent from a Living or Revocable Family Trust are by definition trust assets, so if the owner of a GoldMoney Holding is an individual then we cannot accept funds from a trust into an individual's GoldMoney Holding. The owner will first need to send the funds from the Living Trust's bank account to his or her own personal bank account, and then wire funds to GoldMoney from the personal bank account.
To be completely clear, we will not accept funds transfers from a bank account with an account name of 'John Doe Living Trust', but we will accept funds transfers from a bank account with an account name of 'John Doe'.
We can make no exceptions to this policy, so any funds sent from a Living Trust bank account will have to be returned to the originating account.
